There has been a huge number of Resident Evil games, especially if you count all those remakes and spin-offs that kept coming out over the years. Without Resident Evil, we probably wouldn’t have games like Silent Hill or Dino Crisis either, and that alone is something worth celebrating. While it may not have been the first survival horror game ever made, it is certainly one of the first that was popular enough to basically spawn an entire genre. Resident Evil is one hell of a series and has one hell of a legacy behind it.
